About Lawton Farm Fence

Lawton Farm Fence is a locally owned fence contractor working the ranch country around Lawton, Oklahoma. We weld pipe fence, continuous rail, corrals, and working pens, and we run barbed wire, field and woven wire, high-tensile and electric, board and rail, and farm gates and entrances. Old fence comes out and the row gets cleared before anything new goes in. What the fence has to hold decides the spec. Cattle push against a fence, horses run into one, and goats look for the gap.

Two things separate a fence that stands from one that leans, and neither is the wire. The first is the end assembly. Nearly every failed fence we get called out to failed at a corner that had no brace behind it, and once the corner tipped, every strand for a quarter mile went slack. The second is depth. We set the ends first, tamp backfill in lifts, and bring each strand to tension on a strainer rather than guessing at it by hand.

This country asks for both trades at once. Granite runs out from the Wichitas under a lot of the pasture west and north of town, and an auger finds it without warning, so we drill rock and we set steel where a wood post will never go deep enough. East and south the red clay plains auger easy and hold a tamped post well. The oilfield left surplus drill stem and sucker rod all over this region, which is why welded pipe became the normal fence for corrals, alleys, barn lots, and ranch entrances here long before it caught on anywhere else.

We carry Oklahoma licensing and insurance on every job. The work goes on paper first: footage, fence type, corner and gate count, clearing, and price. When an existing fence only needs new braces and fresh tension, we will say so, because that job costs a fraction of a rebuild and sometimes it is the right call.
